Still retains his blood and brain matter. **First Appearance:** #book2 #### Antimatter Weapons These have been outlawed as a weapon across known space, because the destructive potential is so great. A single antimatter weapon could easily render a planet uninhabitable. Weaponizing antimatter is considered to be a Crime Against Order. **First Appearance:** #book6 #### Applique Armor Armor plates that are applied to the exterior of ships rather than being an integral part of the ship. **First Appearance:** #book4 #### Aurigae-Class Heavy Cruiser Threat class thirteen, made by the Algo shipyards at HD4629, aka Nesit. Her favorite weapon. **First Appearance:** #book10 #### Barcan Five-Alpha Mass Driver Rifles **First Appearance:** #book9 #### Barcan Slug Pistols **First Appearance:** #book9 #### B-Suit Battle Suit. Sleek, midnight blue and black, form-fitting garment that covers one from neck to toes. Gloves are made into it, not removable. Also has both a helmet and a lighter-duty hood. Helmet and hood seal to the neck of the suit allowing it to be used as a space suit. Helmet allows for vision from near ultraviolet to far infrared, can generate radar and ultrasound imagery in no-light conditions. Designed to stop all small caliber projectiles and fragmentation effects of explosives up to a certain level. Rifle-caliber rounds might penetrate, and will definitely hurt. Offers protection from brief pulses from directed-energy weapons, is effectively radiation-proof, and is immune to the effects of corrosive and toxic chemicals. Doesn’t deal well with body-heat though.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Burst Cannon A form of particle cannon, for mounting on ships. **First Appearance:** #book9 #### Coil Gun A rifle-sized mass driver. **First Appearance:** #book8 #### Cuirass Essentially breastplate armor. **First Appearance:** #book6 #### Deconstructor Bleeding-edge tech from Unity, a missile. Better acceleration, full-power burn time at least thirty percent longer than known missiles, far better AI guidance and a directional warhead, so no wasted power blasting in every direction. If you try anything more than routine maintenance, ie reverse engineering, the AI will wipe itself. Will obliterate anything up to class 12, and cripple or heavily damage up to class 15 or so. **First Appearance:** #book8 #### EMP Electromagnetic Pulse, when used at altitude or in space it damages electronic equipment. It is possible to harden equipment against an EMP, but it’s often not practical. **First Appearance:** #book2 #### Extended-duration fuel cells Allows the dragonet to store extra fuel. **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Firewing Missiles The military missiles the Whisperwings are styled after.  **First Appearance:** #book6 #### Funboy's Weapon, aka Franken-gun A slug-pistol with a bayonet (a hideous metal spike,) protruding from the butt, and a set of brass knuckles built into the grip. **First Appearance:** #book10 #### Gauss Carbine A small arms weapon used by the peacemakers **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Glitter Caster/Glitter Bomb A weapon that launches small bits of reflective foil, intended to aid in shielding a ship from laser fire by confusing the picture and by reflecting the laser itself.  This is a garbage can sized projectile that detonates and spreads a cloud of highly reflective glitter intended to diffuse and weaken incoming laser shots.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Goo Gun Non-lethal sidearm, flings out a short-ranged gout of adhesive foam to immobilize a target.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Grand Slam Anti-Ship Missiles Missiles designed for surface to space combat, ten were stolen from the Wu’tzur home planet. The cloaks, worn like a regular cloak, scattered light, near UV, visible, and near infrared, in a way that blurred them into the background. Combined with vegetation and other concealment they render their wearers almost invisible.  **First Appearance:** #book9 #### Mjjolnir The name Icky gives her sledgehammer. It also happens to be the name of the hammer used by Thor in Norse mythology.  **First Appearance:** #book4 #### Moonsword or Moonblade Although the weapon is in the shape of a medium sword, the material is anything but simple metal. The Moonsword is a generational armament, capable of upgrades that augment its ability to interrupt communications, scan for data, and act as a blunt-force weapon that can split all but the toughest of ship’s hulls. Similar to a roman gladius, a short, broad-bladed stabbing weapon. Traditional weapon of the Peacemakers. **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Mossberg Patriot Vortex **First Appearance:** #book9 #### Nano-Jet A pistol-style weapon that fires a stream of nanobots that can be programmed to do anything from causing mild irritation to acting as a lethal toxin. Works on ammo-capsules. **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Petawatt Laser A weapon. **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Plasma Rifle Very military and still very experimental. **First Appearance:** #book9 #### Point-Defense Weapons Small weapons for close defense of a ship or location. **First Appearance:** #book5 #### Powerfist Military grade, twist-enhanced mass driver, an Eridani military weapon that can reduce the time-of-flight of a slug to nearly zero. Expensive, burns antimatter as fuel, has a phenomenally slow rate of fire. Prone to breaking down. As much as 90-100 thousand bonds per shot. Experimental, but potentially a ship-killer.  **First Appearance:** #book9 #### Proton Canon A weapon that spews an intense stream of charged particles down the length of an annular magnetic field. Good only for a few thousand clicks, so only at point-blank range.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Pulse Gun or The Drop A gun, or rather two guns, a weapon called a pulse gun, with a more conventional, underslung projectile weapon. The first fired a coherent pulse of energy that could be tuned from a non-lethal stun effect, to a very lethal blast effect. The second fired, well, a projectile, but not simply a bullet. It fired either a flechette-round, that launched four vicious darts at its target, an armor-piercing penetrator, or an explosive round that would detonate like a small grenade. A built-in folding stock allowed it to be wielded as either a pistol, or a bulkier, but more accurate carbine. It had belonged to Mark Tudor and now belongs to Van.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Rail Gun A magnetic accellerator cannon. **First Appearance:** #book5 #### REAB Reactive/Ablative armor. Added to the exterior of a ship to improve resistance to hits. **First Appearance:** #book5 #### Reach Missiles An Eridani surface to orbit missile launcher (and 5 missiles). **First Appearance:** #book8 #### Reactive Armor Explosive boxes that would detonate outward when impacted by a solid projectile, reducing its kinetic energy and its potential damage. Must be replaced once used.  **First Appearance:** #book2 #### Rotary Missile Launcher A rotary system for launching missiles from a ship or ground emplacement. **First Appearance:** #book6 #### SAND: Small-Area Nuclear Detonation A nuclear weapon developed by Kragdalous, using antimatter, and will vaporize most materials across an area of about ten meters and cause intense thermal effects out to about one hundred meters. If detonated in a standard atmosphere, it would cause significant blast damage to about twice that distance.  **First Appearance:** #book11 #### Scanner Drones Small, easily deployed, cheap, effective.  **First Appearance:** #book7 #### Self-Assembling AI fortresses  Once fully functional, they each would be able to unleash about three times the firepower of the Iowa. Together with a squadron of schegith heaby cruisers and helso’s own self defense fleet it meant VanMaanen’s star was now a risky proposition for anything but a full-on battlefleet, and even then the issue would be in doubt. **First Appearance:** #book10 #### Sinking Fish A weapon used by the Puloquir, unmanned AI controlled, and passive until their triggering protocols are activated. Similar to the junkyard dog encountered earlier. This is a weapons Category, not a specific single type of weapon. **First Appearance:** #book8 #### Solitude An overlay for the Moonblade, the first. Allows disruption of comms.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Sorcerer's Cuff A bracelet-like item used by the Sorcerers, has many abilities including personal shielding from weapons fire, to stealing energy, to preventing toxins and other harmful chemicals from interfering with the wearer. **First Appearance:** #book2 #### Spike The weapon belonging to Zenophir, a wonder of lethal technologies. The size of a sub-machine gun but light enough to wield with one hand. The base of the pistol grip is a menacing spike (tungsten carbide reinforced with spiral carbon filaments of Zeno’s design), while a wickedly sharp blade (monofilament-edged) extends from beneath its barrel. has a sight (low light and thermal, with a built in predictive AI) that can flip up to replace the iron sights, fires a 2mm EM cartridge, at nearly 2000m/s. **First Appearance:** #book5 #### Spoof Charge Strictly controlled military ordnance, a missile that explodes into a dozen fragments, only one of which is the actual warhead, the rest are decoys. **First Appearance:** #book2 #### Star Steel A metal alloy made up of mostly iron and nickel, with cobalt and a few other minor metals, and some special impurities arranged in a crystalline structure they cannot duplicate, mostly calcium, fluorine, etc. This was either a one-off natural phenomenon or they knew more about metallurgy than is currently known.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Starfires A type of missile used by Peacemakers. smaller, more nimble, and have powerful, directional warheads that fling depleted uranium spheres at their target in a lethal cone. They could easily take out a ship ten times the size of the Fafnir but are also really expensive. **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Sunblade Another blade made of Star-steel.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Tag Missiles These detonate with a convincing explosion but shower the target with a flurry of electronic tags that can later be pinged and located. **First Appearance:** #book6 #### Tarpit Missile A drone that would catch up to and then remain on-station with its target. Once on target it generates strong gravitational pulses, disrupting the targets ability to twist to another location.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### The Golden BB A single, small projectile that normally wouldn’t be a problem but just happens to hit the one specific spot where it causes all kinds of problems. An idea put forth by Mark Tudor. **First Appearance:** #book2 #### Third Blade of Star Steel A third type of blade was made of star-steel, but has been lost to the ages. **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Tracer Round A type of ammunition made to be visible as it travels. **First Appearance:** #book2 #### Twin-Barrelled Cannons Retrieved from the wreckage of an ancient battle. These fire bolts of high-energy plasma enclosed in magnetic bubbles of their own making, at a high percentage of light speed. Unfortunately these two don’t work just yet. They will squirt clouds of plasma that immediately start dissipating. **First Appearance:** #book8 #### Unnamed Weapon A tube like the anti-tank weapons of Earth, an AT-4 or a Javelin guided missile. Extremely fast, and effective. Makes a class 7 cutter vanish in a cloud of cooling gas and fragments of debris. Probably an anti-matter charge, in a shoulder-launched weapon.  **First Appearance:** #book7 #### Vibro Knife Vibrating blade, can cut through most materials.  **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Weapons Printer An machine that makes weapons. **First Appearance:** #book1 #### Whisperwing Missiles Civilian rated ship killer missiles complete with all ancillary tech manuals and software. **First Appearance:** #book6 #### X-Ray Laser Aweapon used by the unknown toroidal ship. **First Appearance:** #book6
