**First Appearance:** #book9
One of the seven habitable planets in the [[Tau Ceti]] system, the Arch, as it was called, was predominantly an agri-world. Its huge expanses of temperate land were given over to growing conventional crops of all sorts. More specialized types were grown hydroponically in sprawling greenhouse complexes, while even the coast regions were used to cultivate algae, whose biomass was used for production of food, as a growth medium for pharmaceutical products, and even as a source of biofuel to power machinery around the planet.
In the meantime, vast fisheries operate from huge floating platforms serviced by fleets of robotic ships. It was all the result of very careful, sophisticated terraforming, making the Arch the breadbasket of the [[Tau Ceti]] system. More importantly, there were a dozen or so major cities, all of whose economies were built around serving the surrounding farmlands and fisheries.
#### Greenway
A major city on Carson’s Arch. Clustered around the base of a towering space elevator. The elevator is a series of parallel cylinders, each about a hundred meters in diameter and made of some exotic material, held together by a complex spiderweb of cables. The result is a structure about a kilometer across, starting at ground level and soaring away, dwindling into …forever. Thirty-six thousand kilometers high.
